Each year, the Callaway County Chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association presents awards to deserving people in the county. Here are the winners through the years:

Education Award–Nicole Kemp, North Callaway assistant superintendent

Callaway Tiger Pride Award–Marty Kehoe, charter member and longtime board member, Callaway County MAA chapter

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Tom Howard, CEO and general manager of Callaway Electric Cooperative

Agriculture Award—Travis Brinker of Brinker Farms and Central Missouri Meat and Sausage

Education Award–Janet Trowbridge, Fulton Public Schools special education teacher and Student Council adviser

2017

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Nancy McCue, community and international volunteer

Agriculture Award—David Backer, owner of Wise Brother’s Farm & Allis Chalmers Implement Dealership

Education Award–Dr. Jacque Cowherd, superintendent of Fulton Public Schools

Retired Educator Award—Jim Graham, former vocational agriculture and Future Farmers of America adviser at North Callaway High School

2016

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Marty Martin-Forman, retired chief operating officer of Fulton State Hospital.

Agriculture Award—Fred and Nathan Atkinson, owners of Atkinson Farm Service

Education Award–Beth Houf, principal of Fulton Middle School

Faculty Award—Dr. Jim Stevermer, professor of clinical family and community medicine and medical director of Callaway Physicians

2015

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Mary Ann Beahon, who founded the Callaway County Chapter in 1995 and continues to serve on the board. She also served on the National Alumni Board, representing the Southeast United States, before moving to Fulton 20 years ago.

Agriculture Award—David Means, co-owner of the Callaway Livestock Center

Education Award—Dr. Linda Davis, professor of management information systems at William Woods University

Faculty Award—Dr. Howard Marshall, professor emeritus and former chairman of the department of art history and archaeology, and former director of the Missouri Cultural Heritage Center, at the University of Missouri.

2014

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Dr. Bob Hansen, known for his work in East Africa, especially in Rwanda

Agriculture Award—Dr. Bruce Robertson, founder of Midwest Veterinary Clinic

Education Award–Dr. Robert Cannell, principal and director of special education for North Callaway School District from 1979 until 1994, when he retired.

2013

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Rodney Latty, local contractor, founder of HLW Builders and school board member

Agriculture Award—Jeff Jones, a fourth-generation farmer in Callaway County, who owns and operates Jones Angus Farm with his family

Education Award–Ramona Dobson, instrumental and vocal music teacher at South Callaway and North Callaway schools and elementary principal at New Bloomfield and Callaway Hills elementary schools

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Fulton Mayor Leroy Benton

Agriculture Award— Nathan Real, co-owner of Truescape

Faculty Award—Dr. Stan Casteel of the MU College of Veterinary Medicine

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Mike Boulware, a vice president at Callaway Bank and active community volunteer

Agriculture Award—Jim and Chuck Hughes, farmers for 40 years in Auxvasse

Faculty Award—Wendy L. Sims, MU professor of music education and director of studies in music education

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Gene Hamilton, presiding judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit of Missouri (Boone and Callaway Counties)

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Dick Ault, Olympic athlete, longtime coach and sports official

Outstanding Alumnus Award—Charlie James, retired CEO of Callaway Electric, former major league ballplayer with the St. Louis Cardinals when they won the World Series in 1964 and community volunteer.
